The SLC25A19 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12727) is a powerful tool for researchers studying SLC25A19, a key protein involved in mitochondrial function and metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the SLC25A19 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of SLC25A19 in various cell types, making it an essential tool for research in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology.SLC25A19, also known as the Mitochondrial Thiamine Pyrophosphate Carrier, plays a crucial role in energy metabolism and the transport of thiamine pyrophosphate into mitochondria.
Dysregulation of SLC25A19 has been implicated in various metabolic disorders and mitochondrial diseases. Therefore, studying the function and expression of SLC25A19 is essential for gaining insights into these conditions and developing potential therapeutic interventions.Overall, the SLC25A19 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12727) is a valuable resource for researchers interested in unraveling the intricacies of mitochondrial function and metabolic pathways, with potential implications for understanding and treating a range of metabolic diseases.

This gene encodes a mitochondrial protein that is a member of the solute carrier family. Although this protein was initially thought to be the mitochondrial deoxynucleotide carrier involved in the uptake of deoxynucleotides into the matrix of the mitochondria, further studies have demonstrated that this protein instead functions as the mitochondrial thiamine pyrophosphate carrier, which transports thiamine pyrophosphates into mitochondria. Mutations in this gene cause microcephaly, Amish type, a metabolic disease that results in severe congenital microcephaly, severe 2-ketoglutaric aciduria, and death within the first year. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified for this gene.
