The SLC12A3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB18382) is a valuable tool for researchers studying SLC12A3, a protein involved in ion transport and kidney function. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is specifically designed for use in Western blot applications and has been validated for its reactivity with human samples.SLC12A3, also known as the thiazide-sensitive Na-Cl cotransporter, plays a crucial role in maintaining electrolyte balance in the kidney. Dysregulation of SLC12A3 has been implicated in various kidney disorders, making it an important target for research into renal function and disease.
By binding to the SLC12A3 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of SLC12A3 in different cell types, providing valuable insight into its function and potential therapeutic applications. Researchers in the fields of nephrology, physiology, and molecular biology will benefit from using this antibody in their studies of SLC12A3 and kidney function.

This gene encodes a renal thiazide-sensitive sodium-chloride cotransporter that is important for electrolyte homeostasis. This cotransporter mediates sodium and chloride reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule. Mutations in this gene cause Gitelman syndrome, a disease similar to Bartter's syndrome, that is characterized by hypokalemic alkalosis combined with hypomagnesemia, low urinary calcium, and increased renin activity associated with normal blood pressure. This cotransporter is the target for thiazide diuretics that are used for treating high blood pressure. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
