The SKP1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2566) is a valuable tool for researchers studying SKP1, a key component of the SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex involved in protein degradation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, has high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.SKP1 is essential for regulating the cell cycle, DNA replication, and signal transduction pathways by targeting specific proteins for degradation. Dysfunction in SKP1 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
By targeting SKP1 with this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying these diseases and potentially identify new therapeutic targets. The SKP1 Polyclonal Antibody is a powerful tool for studying SKP1 expression and function in a variety of cell types and experimental conditions. Its high reactivity and specificity make it an ideal choice for researchers looking to enhance their understanding of the molecular pathways regulated by SKP1.

This gene encodes a component of SCF complexes, which are composed of this protein, cullin 1, a ring-box protein, and one member of the F-box family of proteins. This protein binds directly to the F-box motif found in F-box proteins. SCF complexes are involved in the regulated ubiquitination of specific protein substrates, which targets them for degradation by the proteosome. Specific F-box proteins recognize different target protein(s), and many specific SCF substrates have been identified including regulators of cell cycle progression and development. Studies have also characterized the protein as an RNA polymerase II elongation factor. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 7.
