The Skil Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5844) is specifically designed for research involving Skil, a protein involved in various cellular processes such as cell differentiation, proliferation, and migration. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. It binds to the Skil protein, allowing for the detection and analysis of Skil in different cell types.Skil, also known as SnoN, is a critical regulator of the TGF-beta signaling pathway and has been implicated in the development and progression of various diseases, including cancer.
Its role in cell growth and differentiation makes it a promising target for research in oncology and developmental biology. Understanding the function of Skil could lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for diseases associated with dysregulated TGF-beta signaling.Overall, the Skil Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5844) offers researchers a powerful tool for investigating the role of Skil in cellular processes and diseases, providing valuable insights for potential therapeutic interventions.

The protein encoded by this gene is a component of the SMAD pathway, which regulates cell growth and differentiation through transforming growth factor-beta (TGFB). In the absence of ligand, the encoded protein binds to the promoter region of TGFB-responsive genes and recruits a nuclear repressor complex. TGFB signaling causes SMAD3 to enter the nucleus and degrade this protein, allowing these genes to be activated. Four transcript variants encoding three different isoforms have been found for this gene.
