The SIRT5 Monoclonal Antibody is a vital tool for researchers studying SIRT5, a protein belonging to the sirtuin family known for its role in cellular metabolism and energy production. This antibody, produced using monoclonal antibody technology, is highly specific and sensitive for detecting SIRT5 in human samples. It has been validated for use in various applications, including immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry.
SIRT5 is involved in regulating key metabolic processes such as fatty acid oxidation, glucose metabolism, and amino acid metabolism. Dysregulation of SIRT5 has been linked to diseases like cancer, metabolic disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. By using the SIRT5 Monoclonal Antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the role of SIRT5 in these diseases and potentially uncover new therapeutic targets.

This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class III of the sirtuin family. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.
