The Sirt3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5419) is a valuable tool for researchers investigating the role of Sirt3, a mitochondrial protein deacetylase implicated in various cellular processes including metabolism, stress response, and aging. This antibody, generated in rabbits, shows high specificity for human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the Sirt3 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and quantification in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent choice for studies in biochemistry, cell biology, and aging research.
Sirt3 is known for its role in regulating mitochondrial function and metabolism, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions in metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and age-related conditions. Understanding the function and regulation of Sirt3 is crucial for developing strategies to manipulate its activity for beneficial outcomes. The Sirt3 Polyclonal Antibody offers researchers a reliable tool for studying the intricate role of Sirt3 in cellular processes and disease mechanisms.

This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class I of the sirtuin family. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been described for this gene.
