The SIRT2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0273) is a valuable tool for researchers studying SIRT2, a member of the sirtuin family of proteins involved in regulating cellular processes such as metabolism, stress response, and aging. This antibody, raised in rabbits, shows high reactivity with human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot applications.SIRT2 is known for its role in modulating cell cycle progression, metabolism, and stress response pathways, making it a key target for investigating various disease states including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic conditions.
By binding specifically to the SIRT2 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of SIRT2 expression in different cell types, providing valuable insights for studies in cell biology and disease mechanisms.Researchers interested in exploring the functions and regulatory mechanisms of SIRT2 in cellular processes will benefit from the use of the SIRT2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0273) as a reliable tool for their research endeavors.

This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class I of the sirtuin family. Several transcript variants are resulted from alternative splicing of this gene.
