The SIRT1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0230) is a vital tool for researchers studying SIRT1, a key protein involved in regulating cellular processes such as gene expression, DNA repair, and metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.SIRT1, a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, plays a crucial role in various physiological functions including aging, metabolism, and stress response. Its dysregulation has been linked to several age-related diseases, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
By specifically binding to the SIRT1 protein, this antibody facilitates the detection and analysis of SIRT1 levels in different cell types, providing valuable insights for research in fields such as aging, metabolism, and cancer biology. Understanding the role of SIRT1 in cellular pathways may lead to the development of novel treatments for a range of diseases and conditions.

This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class I of the sirtuin family. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
