The SHQ1 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC062487) is a valuable tool for researchers studying SHQ1, a critical protein involved in RNA biogenesis and telomere maintenance. This antibody is raised in rabbits and exhibits high reactivity with human samples, making it suitable for a variety of research applications, including Western blotting.SHQ1 is known for its role in the maturation of small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) and telomerase RNA, making it essential for proper cell function and growth. Dysregulation of SHQ1 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and genetic disorders.
By targeting SHQ1 with this antibody, researchers can gain insights into its functions and potentially develop targeted therapies for related conditions. With its specificity and sensitivity in detecting SHQ1 protein, this polyclonal antibody is an essential tool for studying RNA biology, telomere maintenance, and related diseases. Its validation for Western blot applications ensures reliable and accurate results in research focused on understanding the role of SHQ1 in cellular processes and disease mechanisms.

IHC image of PACO62487 diluted at 1:500 and staining in paraffin-embedded human colon cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
Background:
Required for the quantitative accumulation of H/ACA ribonucleoproteins (RNPs), including telomerase, probably through the stabilization of DKC1, from the time of its synthesis until its association with NOP10, NHP2, and NAF1 at the nascent H/ACA RNA.
Synonyms:
Protein SHQ1 homolog, SHQ1

NCBI Summary:
SHQ1 assists in the assembly of H/ACA-box ribonucleoproteins that function in the processing of ribosomal RNAs, modification of spliceosomal small nuclear RNAs, and stabilization of telomerase (see MIM 602322) (Grozdanov et al., 2009 [PubMed 19383767]).[supplied by OMIM, Dec 2010]
