The SETMAR Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6738) is designed for researchers studying the SETMAR protein, a fusion protein with both DNA-binding and histone-methyltransferase activities. This antibody is produced in rabbits and has high reactivity with human samples, making it ideal for use in various research applications such as Western blotting.SETMAR is a key player in DNA repair processes and chromatin remodeling, making it a crucial target for investigating mechanisms involved in maintaining genomic stability and regulating gene expression. Dysfunction in SETMAR has been linked to various diseases including cancer, making it a promising candidate for drug development and therapeutic interventions.
By using the SETMAR Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can effectively detect and analyze SETMAR protein levels in different cell types, advancing our understanding of its role in DNA damage repair and chromatin structure regulation. This antibody is a valuable tool for studies in genetics, oncology, and molecular biology, providing insights that may lead to new therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment and genetic disorders.
Product Name:
SETMAR Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB6738
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit
Reactivity:
Human
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 20-300 of human SETMAR (NP_006506.3).
This gene encodes a fusion protein that contains an N-terminal histone-lysine N-methyltransferase domain and a C-terminal mariner transposase domain. The encoded protein binds DNA and functions in DNA repair activities including non-homologous end joining and double strand break repair. The SET domain portion of this protein specifically methylates histone H3 lysines 4 and 36. This gene exists as a fusion gene only in anthropoid primates, other organisms lack mariner transposase domain. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
