The SERINC3 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC023529) offered by AssayGenie is a vital tool for researchers studying SERINC3, a protein involved in lipid metabolism and virus-host interactions. This antibody, developed through rabbit immunization, demonstrates high specificity for human samples and is optimized for Western blot applications. By targeting the SERINC3 protein, this antibody allows for precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an essential resource for studies in virology and lipid biology.SERINC3, a member of the serine incorporator (SERINC) family, is known for its role in regulating lipid composition in membranes, which impacts crucial cellular functions such as viral entry and host immunity.
Research on SERINC3 is particularly relevant to understanding how viruses manipulate host cells during infection and how lipid metabolism influences viral pathogenesis. The SERINC3 Polyclonal Antibody enables researchers to investigate the intricate mechanisms underlying these processes, providing insights that could lead to the development of novel antiviral strategies and lipid-targeted therapies.

Background:
TDE1, tumor differentially expressed protein 1, is a multi-pass membrane protein also known as serine incorporator 3. Also found on the membranes of the Golgi apparatus within cells, TDE1 is highly expressed in neuronal populations but is also found in thymus, kidney, liver and testis. Expression levels of TDE1 in tumors can be as much as tenfold the amount found in normal tissue of the same type. This increased expression implicates TDE1 as being involved in the cellular transformation from normal to malignant tissue.

TDE; TDE1; AIGP1; TMS-1; DIFF33; SBBI99
