The SELP Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12501) is a valuable tool for researchers studying SELP, also known as P-selectin, a cell adhesion molecule involved in inflammation and immune response. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to SELP, the antibody enables the detection and analysis of this important protein in various cell types.SELP plays a crucial role in mediating the recruitment of leukocytes to sites of inflammation, making it a key player in immune response regulation. Dysregulation of SELP has been implicated in various inflammatory conditions and diseases, including cardiovascular disease and arthritis.
By studying SELP activity and function, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying these pathological processes and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for intervention. Overall, the SELP Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for researchers interested in investigating the role of SELP in inflammation, immune response, and disease pathology. Its high specificity and reliability make it an ideal choice for studies in immunology, cardiovascular research, and inflammation-related disorders.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 220-319 of human CD62P/P-selectin (NP_002996.2).
This gene encodes a 140 kDa protein that is stored in the alpha-granules of platelets and Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells. This protein redistributes to the plasma membrane during platelet activation and degranulation and mediates the interaction of activated endothelial cells or platelets with leukocytes. The membrane protein is a calcium-dependent receptor that binds to sialylated forms of Lewis blood group carbohydrate antigens on neutrophils and monocytes. Alternative splice variants may occur but are not well documented.
