The SEC24D Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16091) is a crucial tool for researchers studying SEC24D, a key protein involved in the regulation of protein transport within cells. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to SEC24D, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of the protein in various cell types, facilitating research in cell biology, molecular biology, and protein trafficking.SEC24D is a vital component of the COPII vesicle coat complex, which plays a crucial role in the packaging and transport of proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus.
Dysregulation of SEC24D has been implicated in various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic diseases. Therefore, studying the function and regulation of SEC24D is essential for gaining insights into these pathologies and developing potential therapeutic interventions. In conclusion, the SEC24D Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16091) offers researchers a valuable tool for investigating the role of SEC24D in cellular processes and disease pathogenesis. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for studies aiming to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying protein transport and related disorders.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the SEC24 subfamily of the SEC23/SEC24 family, which is involved in vesicle trafficking. The encoded protein has similarity to yeast Sec24p component of COPII. COPII is the coat protein complex responsible for vesicle budding from the ER. This gene product is implicated in the shaping of the vesicle, and also in cargo selection and concentration. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Cole-Carpenter syndrome, a disorder affecting bone formation, resulting in craniofacial malformations and bones that break easily. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
