The SDHD Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16240) is specifically designed for research involving SDHD, a protein that plays a crucial role in the mitochondria and is essential for cell metabolism and energy production. This antibody is produced in rabbits and has been validated for use in Western blot applications, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studying the expression and function of SDHD in various cell types.SDHD is a subunit of the succinate dehydrogenase enzyme complex, which is involved in the electron transport chain and the citric acid cycle.
Mutations in SDHD have been linked to various diseases, including hereditary paraganglioma and pheochromocytoma. By using the SDHD Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can further explore the role of SDHD in these conditions and other mitochondrial disorders.Furthermore, understanding the function of SDHD is crucial for developing potential therapies targeting mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolic disorders. The SDHD Polyclonal Antibody offers a valuable tool for researchers interested in the fields of metabolism, bioenergetics, and mitochondrial biology.
Product Name:
SDHD Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB16240

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 50-150 of human SDHD (NP_002993.1).
This gene encodes a member of complex II of the respiratory chain, which is responsible for the oxidation of succinate. The encoded protein is one of two integral membrane proteins anchoring the complex to the matrix side of the mitochondrial inner membrane. Mutations in this gene are associated with the formation of tumors, including hereditary paraganglioma. Transmission of disease occurs almost exclusively through the paternal allele, suggesting that this locus may be maternally imprinted. There are pseudogenes for this gene on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 7, and 18. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
