The S100A12 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12499) is specifically designed for research involving the S100A12 protein, a member of the S100 family known for its role in inflammatory response and immune regulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the S100A12 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of S100A12 in various cell types, making it an ideal tool for studies in immunology, inflammation, and cancer research.
S100A12, also known as calgranulin C, is a calcium-binding protein that plays a key role in the regulation of inflammatory processes and immune responses. Its involvement in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders and inflammatory conditions, make it a promising target for therapeutic interventions. Understanding the function and expression of S100A12 is essential for developing new treatments that target inflammation and immune dysregulation in these pathological conditions.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-92 of human S100A12 (NP_005612.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein is proposed to be involved in specific calcium-dependent signal transduction pathways and its regulatory effect on cytoskeletal components may modulate various neutrophil activities. The protein includes an antimicrobial peptide which has antibacterial activity.
