The RUBCN Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13169) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the RUBCN protein, a key player in autophagy regulation and cellular homeostasis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. Its specificity enables precise detection and analysis of RUBCN in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in molecular biology and cell biology.RUBCN, also known as RUN and cysteine-rich domain containing Beclin1 interacting protein, is involved in the regulation of autophagic processes, playing a crucial role in maintaining cellular health and response to stress.
Dysregulation of autophagy has been implicated in various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders, cancer, and infectious diseases, highlighting the importance of studying RUBCN in these contexts. By targeting RUBCN and understanding its function, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these pathological conditions and potentially identify novel therapeutic strategies.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-200 of human Rubicon (NP_055502.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a negative regulator of autophagy and endocytic trafficking and controls endosome maturation. This protein contains two conserved domains, an N-terminal RUN domain and a C-terminal DUF4206 domain. The RUN domain is involved in Ras-like GTPase signaling, and the DUF4206 domain contains a diacylglycerol (DAG) binding-like motif. Mutation in this gene results in deletion of the DAG binding-like motif and causes a recessive ataxia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.
