The RPS9 Polyclonal Antibody (AB10009) is a valuable tool for researchers studying ribosomal protein S9 (RPS9), a vital component of the ribosome involved in protein synthesis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to RPS9, the antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze this protein in a variety of cell types, making it particularly useful for studies in molecular biology and genetics.
RPS9 is essential for the assembly and function of the ribosome, playing a key role in the translation of genetic information into proteins. Dysregulation of RPS9 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and genetic disorders, making it a target of interest for researchers in the field. Understanding the function and regulation of RPS9 is crucial for advancing our knowledge of protein synthesis and its implications in health and disease.

Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. This gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is a component of the 40S subunit. The protein belongs to the S4P family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in the cytoplasm. Variable expression of this gene in colorectal cancers compared to adjacent normal tissues has been observed, although no correlation between the level of expression and the severity of the disease has been found. As is typical for genes encoding ribosomal proteins, multiple processed pseudogenes derived from this gene are dispersed through the genome.
