Description
Rig-I/DDX58 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB21421)
The RIG-I (DDX58) Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the RIG-I protein, a key player in antiviral immune responses. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and reactivity towards human samples, making it an excellent choice for Western blotting applications. By binding to the RIG-I protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of RIG-I expression in various cell types, offering insights into the mechanisms of viral recognition and immune response activation.
RIG-I, also known as DDX58, is an essential component of the innate immune system, detecting viral RNA and initiating signaling cascades that lead to the production of antiviral cytokines. Understanding the function of RIG-I is crucial for unraveling host-virus interactions and developing novel antiviral therapies. By studying the role of RIG-I in viral infection and immunity, researchers can uncover new strategies for combating viral diseases and enhancing immune responses.

DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases which are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving RNA binding and alteration of RNA secondary structure. This gene encodes a protein containing RNA helicase-DEAD box protein motifs and a caspase recruitment domain (CARD). It is involved in viral double-stranded (ds) RNA recognition and the regulation of the antiviral innate immune response. Mutations in this gene are associated with Singleton-Merten syndrome 2.
