The Rheb Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1165) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Rheb, a key protein involved in the regulation of cell growth and proliferation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has been validated for use in Western blot applications and is highly reactive with human samples.Rheb, also known as Ras homolog enriched in brain, is a critical component of the mTOR signaling pathway, which plays a key role in controlling cell metabolism, growth, and survival. Dysregulation of this pathway has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic syndromes.
By specifically binding to Rheb protein, this antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze Rheb expression in different cell types, providing valuable insights into its function and potential therapeutic targets. Understanding the role of Rheb in cellular processes is essential for developing targeted therapies for diseases associated with mTOR pathway dysfunction.

This gene is a member of the small GTPase superfamily and encodes a lipid-anchored, cell membrane protein with five repeats of the RAS-related GTP-binding region. This protein is vital in regulation of growth and cell cycle progression due to its role in the insulin/TOR/S6K signaling pathway. The protein has GTPase activity and shuttles between a GDP-bound form and a GTP-bound form, and farnesylation of the protein is required for this activity. Three pseudogenes have been mapped, two on chromosome 10 and one on chromosome 22.
