The RGS4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1787) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the Regulator of G protein Signaling 4 (RGS4) protein. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific for the human RGS4 protein and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. RGS4 is a vital regulator of G protein signaling pathways, playing a crucial role in various cellular processes such as neurotransmission, cell proliferation, and immune response. Dysregulation of RGS4 expression has been linked to numerous diseases, including schizophrenia, cardiovascular disorders, and certain cancers.
By using the RGS4 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and analyze RGS4 protein levels in different cell types, aiding in the understanding of its function and potential therapeutic applications. This antibody is an essential tool for studies in molecular biology, neuroscience, and drug discovery related to RGS4 signaling pathways.

Regulator of G protein signaling (RGS) family members are regulatory molecules that act as GTPase activating proteins (GAPs) for G alpha subunits of heterotrimeric G proteins. RGS proteins are able to deactivate G protein subunits of the Gi alpha, Go alpha and Gq alpha subtypes. They drive G proteins into their inactive GDP-bound forms. Regulator of G protein signaling 4 belongs to this family. All RGS proteins share a conserved 120-amino acid sequence termed the RGS domain. Regulator of G protein signaling 4 protein is 37% identical to RGS1 and 97% identical to rat Rgs4. This protein negatively regulate signaling upstream or at the level of the heterotrimeric G protein and is localized in the cytoplasm. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.
