The RGS17 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15815) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the RGS17 protein, which is involved in regulating the activity of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). This antibody is produced in rabbits and specifically targets the RGS17 protein, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types.RGS17 plays a crucial role in modulating GPCR signaling pathways, making it a key player in various cellular processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and neurotransmission.
Dysregulation of RGS17 has been linked to diseases like cancer, neurological disorders, and cardiovascular conditions, highlighting its importance in biological functions. The CAB15815 antibody is recommended for use in Western blot applications, providing researchers with a reliable tool for investigating the role of RGS17 in health and disease. By understanding the mechanisms of RGS17 signaling, scientists can uncover potential therapeutic targets for developing treatments for a range of medical conditions.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 45-130 of human RGS17 (NP_036551.3).
This gene encodes a member of the regulator of G-protein signaling family. This protein contains a conserved, 120 amino acid motif called the RGS domain and a cysteine-rich region. The protein attenuates the signaling activity of G-proteins by binding to activated, GTP-bound G alpha subunits and acting as a GTPase activating protein (GAP), increasing the rate of conversion of the GTP to GDP. This hydrolysis allows the G alpha subunits to bind G beta/gamma subunit heterodimers, forming inactive G-protein heterotrimers, thereby terminating the signal.
