The TREM2 protein is a membrane receptor that binds to the TYRO protein tyrosine kinase binding protein and forms a receptor signalling complex. TREM2 is involved in the immune response and may be responsible for chronic inflammation by increasing continuous inflammatory cytokine synthesis.
