Human Survivin/BIRC5 Recombinant Protein
Baculoviral IAP Repeat-Containing Protein 5 (BIRC5) belongs to the IAP family. In the apo state, BIRC5 exists as a homodimer and a monomer in the CPC-bound form. BIRC5 is a protein found only in the fetal kidneys and liver, to a lesser extent in the lung and brain. The BIRC5 protein has two functions: promoting cell proliferation and preventing apoptosis. The BIRC5 gene is a component of the chromosome passage protein complex (CPC), which is required for chromosome alignment and segregation during mitosis and cytokinesis. BIRC5 acts as an important regulator of the localization of this complex. Human Survivin/BIRC5 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
