Human LIF Recombinant Protein

Leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is a pleiotropic cytokine belonging to the IL-6 family of proteins. It is involved in the growth stimulation and differentiation of target cells. It has an impact on bone metabolism, cachexia, neurogenesis, embryogenesis, and inflammation. LIF is a potent proinflammatory agent, as it stimulates the acute phase protein synthesis and modulates cell recruitment into the injured or inflamed area. LIF is also one of the cytokines that have the ability to regulate stem cell development; hematopoietic and neuronal cells. LIF binds to the LIF receptor (LIFR-alpha), which forms a heterodimer with a distinct subunit common to all members of that family of receptors; the GP130 signal transducing subunit. Activation of the JAK/STAT and MAPK pathways results from this. LIF is involved in the progression of various health problems and disease development owing to its polyfunctional activities. Human LIF Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
