Interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) is the most potent interferon produced by mitogenically or antigenically activated lymphocytes. It is structurally distinct from type I interferon and has a greater immunoregulatory role. It's been linked to class II histocompatibility antigens being expressed in cells that don't normally produce them, resulting in autoimmune disease.Interferon gamma is produced mainly byT-cells and natural killer cells activated by antigens; mitogens; or alloantigens. It is produced by lymphocytes expressing the surface antigens CD4 and CD8. The formation of IFN-gamma is induced by IL-2, FGF-basic, and EGF. Human Interferon gamma/IFNG Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
