Inositol monophosphatase 1 (IMPA1) is a myo-inositol monophosphate dephosphorylating enzyme that gives rise to free myo-inositol, a precursor of phosphatidylinositol, and therefore regulates intracellular cellular signalling by producing the second messengers myoinosit 1,4,5-triphosphate and diacylglycerol. IMPA1 has phosphatase activity that is reliant on magnesium and is inhibited by therapeutic lithium doses. Lithium's anti-manic and anti-depressive effects in bipolar patients may be linked to the inhibition of inositol monophosphate hydroylosis, which leads to a reduction in inositol for phosphatidylinositol synthesis. FOR IMPA1 pseudogenes may also be identified on chromosome 8q21.13. IMPA1 is a gene that has been linked to mental retardation, autosomal recessive 59, and bipolar disorder. Human IMP1/IMPA1 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
Recombinant Human Inositol Monophosphatase 1 is produced by our E.coli expression system and the target gene encoding Met1-Asp277 is expressed with a 6His tag at the N-terminus.
