Human IgG2-Fc Recombinant Protein

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is a monomeric immunoglobulin that plays an important part in the secondary antibody response and is the only isotype that may pass through the human placenta. Immunoglobulins are composed of 75% of serum immunoglobulins in humans and are produced by plasma B cells. Antibodies from the IgG class protect against bacteria by agglutination and immobilization, complement activation, toxin neutralization, and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). The IgG tetramer has two heavy chains (50 kDa) and two light chains (25kDa), linked by disulfide bonds, which form a Y-like structure. IgG is digested by pepsin proteolysis into Fab fragment (antigen-binding fragment) and Fc fragment ("crystallizable" fragment). IgG1 is the most prevalent in serum among the four IgG subcategories (IgG1, 2, 3, and 4) and binds with high affinity to Fc receptors on phagocytic cells. Fc fragment is demonstrated to mediate phagocytosis; trigger inflammation, and target Ig to particular tissues. Protein G or Protein A on the surface of certain Staphylococcal and Streptococcal bacteria, which binds tightly with the Fc region of IgGs, has many applications in biotechnology as a reagent for affinity purification. The recombinant IgG Fc region is considered to be a potential anti-inflammatory medication for the treatment of human autoimmune diseases. Human IgG2-Fc Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
