Cyclin E1 is a cyclin family protein found in mammalian cells that regulates S phase entry and progression. Cyclin E1 is a regulatory subunit that binds, activates, and provides a substrate for its associated cyclin-dependent kinase2 (CDK2), which is necessary for the cell cycle G1 / S transition. This gene has been linked to cancer development in numerous studies. Because of its excess expression, this gene causes chromosome instability, which leads to tumour genesis. Furthermore, this protein was discovered to link with and be involved in the phosphorylation of NPAT protein (nuclear protein mapped to the ATM locus), which participates in cell-cycle regulated histone gene expression and plays a key role in promoting cell-cycle progression in the absence of pRB. In general, cyclin E1, as a phospho-CDK2 (pCDK2) activator, is crucial for cell cycle progression. It is frequently overexpressed in cancer cells. Human Histone H4/HIST2H4A Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
