GABARAP (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid Receptor-Associated Protein) is a ligand-gated chloride channel protein that participates in inhibitory neurotransmission and is part of the MAP1 LC3 family. In its N-terminal domain, GABARAP is strongly positively charged and shares sequence homology with light chain-3 of microtubule-associated proteins 1A and 1B. The GABARAP protein binds to and regulates the structure of neurotransmitter receptors, which is how it acts as a link between the cytoskeleton and the receptors. The term "autophagy" refers to a cellular process that recycles cytoplasm and eliminates defective organelles. In multicellular organisms, development; differentiation; growth control and tissue remodeling are all said to be necessary processes. GABA, an important inhibitory neurotransmitter, binds to GABA receptors that are present in the brain throughout the body. GABARAP has been identified to be involved in intracellular GABA(A) receptor transport and cytoskeletal interaction. Human GABA Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
Recombinant Human GABA(A) receptor-Associated Protein is produced by our E.coli expression system and the target gene encoding Met1-Gln116 is expressed with a 6His tag at the N-terminus; Fc tag at the C-terminus.
