FGF-basic is a members of the Fibroblast Growth Factors (FGFs) family. The FGFs family includes a variety of proteins that play numerous roles in development, such as cell growth and proliferation. The fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family of proteins regulate a wide range of biological activities, including angiogenesis, cell proliferation, pattern formation, embryonic development, metabolic regulation, cellular migration, neurotrophic effects, and tissue healing. As a non-glycosylated heparin binding growth factor, FGF-basic is found in the brain, pituitary, kidney, retina, bone, testis, adrenal gland liver, monocytes, epithelial cells and endothelial cells. FGF-basic signals through FGFR 1b; 1c; 2c; 3c and 4. Human FGF0/FGF10 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
Measured in a cell proliferation assay using BALB/c 3T3 cells. The ED50 for this effect is 0.3-2.0 ng/ml.
