Human CXCL2/MIP-2 Recombinant Protein

Chemokine Ligand 2 (CXCL2) is a small secreted cytokine that belongs to the CXC chemokine family. Secreted by monocytes and macrophages, this cytokine attracts polymorphonuclear leukocytes and hematopoietic stem cells. CXCL2 activates cells by binding to a cell surface chemokine receptor called CXCR2. It has been shown to influence many aspects of the immune system, particularly via chemoattraction of neutrophils. It is produced by activated monocytes and neutrophils and is active at areas of inflammation. It's a hematoregulatory chemokine that inhibits hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation. CXCL2 can be induced by receptor activator of NF-kappaB ligand, the osteoclast (OC) differentiation factor, and through JNK and NF-kappaB signalling pathways in OC precursor cells. Activated by CXCL2, ERK was increased in osteoclast precursor cells of bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMMs) as a result of which their proliferation was enhanced. CXCL2 knockdown reduced the proliferation of BMMs and ERK activation. CXCL2 stimulated the adhesion and migration of BMMs during osteoclastogenesis. CXCL2 is a potential drug target for inflammatory bone diseases that promote destruction. Human CXCL2/MIP-2 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
