Angiogenin belongs to the ribonuclease family of enzymes. Angiogenin is largely found in the liver. It may function as a tRNA-specific ribonuclease that hydrolyzes cellular tRNAs, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. Angiogenin is a potent inducer of new blood vessel formation. Angiogenin binds to actin on the surface of endothelial cells and is endocytosed and translocated to the nucleus. In vivo, RNH1 regulates angiogenic activity via interactions. Angiogenin is also connected to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which is a progressive disease of motor neurons in the cortex, brain stem and spinal cord. Human Angiogenin/ANG Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
