Human 14-3-3 sigma/YWHAS Recombinant Protein

14-3-3 proteins (YWHAS), also known as stratifin (SFN) and epithelial cell marker protein 1. It is a member of the 14-3-3 proteins, which are a family of conserved regulatory molecules found in all eukaryotic cells. The name "14-3-3" is derived from the protein's elution and migration pattern on DEAE cellulose chromatography and starch gel electrophoresis. The 14-3-3 proteins were eluted in the 14th fraction of bovine brain homogenate and were detected at position 3.3 on the next electrophoresis. The majority of mammal species have seven genes that encode 14-3-3s. Adapter proteins of the 14-3-3 family have been shown to be involved in many general and specialized signalling pathways. 14-3-3 ligands include kinases, phosphatases, and transmembrane receptors, with binding generally resulting in the modulation of the activity of the binding partner. YWHAE exists as a homodimer and is found mainly in tissues enriched in the stratified squamous keratinising epithelium. KRT17 and GAB2 are two receptors that interact with YWHAE. YWHAE has been linked to the Akt/mTOR pathway and may enhance protein synthesis and epithelial cell development. Furthermore, YWHAS (SFN) may function as a p53-regulated G2/M arrester. Human 14-3-3 sigma/YWHAS Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
