14-3-3 beta / YWHAB is a member of the 14-3-3 proteins family. 14-3-3 proteins are a family of highly conserved proteins that are involved in many vital cellular processes such as metabolism, protein trafficking, signal transduction, apoptosis and cell cycle regulation. 14-3-3 proteins are found in synapses and neuronal cytoplasm. In mice, seven different forms have been discovered. 14-3-3 proteins were initially identified as adaptor proteins that bind to phosphoserine-containing motifs. The 14-3-3 proteins' structural motifs, as well as their possible roles, are now known to have a wide range of functional relevance. 14-3-3 beta / YWHAB is found in both plants and mammals, and this protein is 100% homologous to the mouse counterpart. YWHAB interacts with CDC25 phosphatases, RAF1 and IRS1 proteins, suggesting a role in multiple biochemical processes linked to signal transduction, such as cell division and insulin sensitivity regulation. Small cell lung cancer has also been linked to YWHAB. YWHAB binding inhibits RSK1 activity by regulating signal specificity, and the 14-3-3beta-RSK1 complex's association/dissociation is likely to be significant for mitogen-induced RSK1 activation. Human 14-3-3 beta/YWHAB Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
