The RCN2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12496) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the RCN2 protein, which plays a vital role in calcium homeostasis and protein folding in the endoplasmic reticulum. Raised in rabbits, this antibody is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the RCN2 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of RCN2 in various cell types, making it an essential asset for studies in cell biology, biochemistry, and neurology.
RCN2, also known as reticulocalbin 2, is a key player in maintaining calcium levels and ensuring proper protein folding within cells. Dysregulation of RCN2 has been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions. By understanding the function and regulation of RCN2, researchers can gain insights into disease mechanisms and develop novel treatments to alleviate RCN2-related pathologies.
Product Name:
RCN2 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

CAB12496
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 23-180 of human RCN2 (NP_002893.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a calcium-binding protein located in the lumen of the ER. The protein contains six conserved regions with similarity to a high affinity Ca(+2)-binding motif, the EF-hand. This gene maps to the same region as type 4 Bardet-Biedl syndrome, suggesting a possible causative role for this gene in the disorder. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
