The RBP4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1600) is a valuable tool for researchers studying RBP4, a protein involved in various physiological processes including lipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity. This antibody, raised in rabbits, has been validated for use in Western blot applications and is highly reactive with human samples.RBP4, also known as retinol-binding protein 4, plays a crucial role in the transport of retinol (vitamin A) in the blood and has been implicated in the development of insulin resistance and metabolic disorders. By targeting RBP4, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these conditions and potentially identify new therapeutic targets.
This polyclonal antibody binds specifically to RBP4, allowing for the detection and analysis of this protein in various cell types and tissues. Its versatility makes it ideal for studies in metabolism, endocrinology, and diabetes research. By understanding the role of RBP4, researchers can advance our knowledge of metabolic diseases and potentially develop new treatments to improve patient outcomes.
Product Name:
RBP4 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 19-201 of human RBP4 (NP_006735.2).
This protein belongs to the lipocalin family and is the specific carrier for retinol (vitamin A alcohol) in the blood. It delivers retinol from the liver stores to the peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin which prevents its loss by filtration through the kidney glomeruli. A deficiency of vitamin A blocks secretion of the binding protein posttranslationally and results in defective delivery and supply to the epidermal cells.
