The RBP4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12495) is a crucial tool for researchers studying the retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4), an important transporter protein involved in the regulation of retinol metabolism. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.RBP4 plays a key role in the transportation of vitamin A in the blood and is associated with various metabolic disorders, including diabetes and obesity. By targeting the RBP4 protein, researchers can gain insights into its function and potentially uncover new therapeutic strategies for managing related conditions.
With its ability to detect and analyze RBP4 in different cell types, this polyclonal antibody is an invaluable tool for investigations in the fields of metabolism, endocrinology, and related diseases. Its specificity and reliability make it an essential component of any laboratory conducting research on RBP4 and its implications for human health.
Product Name:
RBP4 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB12495
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 19-201 of human RBP4 (NP_006735.2).
This protein belongs to the lipocalin family and is the specific carrier for retinol (vitamin A alcohol) in the blood. It delivers retinol from the liver stores to the peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin which prevents its loss by filtration through the kidney glomeruli. A deficiency of vitamin A blocks secretion of the binding protein posttranslationally and results in defective delivery and supply to the epidermal cells.
