The Rat HO1 (Heme Oxygenase 1) ELISA Kit is a cutting-edge assay designed for the precise quantification of Heme Oxygenase 1 levels in various rat biological samples. Heme Oxygenase 1 is a crucial enzyme involved in heme catabolism, playing a pivotal role in maintaining cellular homeostasis and modulating oxidative stress responses. By quantifying HO1 levels, researchers can gain valuable insights into the cellular stress response, antioxidant defense mechanisms, and the regulation of heme metabolism. HO1 is a key player in the antioxidant defense system, serving as a cytoprotective enzyme that degrades heme into carbon monoxide, biliverdin, and iron, with potent anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and cytoprotective functions.
Its upregulation in response to various cellular stressors underscores its importance in mitigating oxidative damage and promoting cellular resilience in the face of environmental challenges. Accurate measurement of HO1 levels using the Rat HO1 ELISA Kit provides researchers with a comprehensive tool to study oxidative stress, redox signaling pathways, and the adaptive cellular response to various physiological and pathological conditions. With exceptional sensitivity and specificity, this kit offers reliable and reproducible results, making it an indispensable asset for unraveling the intricate roles of HO1 in cellular protection, redox homeostasis, and disease pathogenesis.

This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat HO1. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat HO1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat HO1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat HO1. You can calculate the concentration of Rat HO1 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
