The Rat Dopamine Transporter (DAT) ELISA Kit is a powerful tool designed for the precise quantification of Dopamine Transporter levels in rat biological samples. The Dopamine Transporter is a crucial protein involved in the reuptake of dopamine, a neurotransmitter essential for regulating mood, behavior, and cognitive functions in the central nervous system. Dopamine Transporter plays a key role in regulating dopamine concentrations in the synaptic cleft by transporting dopamine back into the presynaptic neuron. Dysregulation of the Dopamine Transporter function has been implicated in various neuropsychiatric disorders, including depression, addiction, and Parkinson's disease, making it a significant target for neurological research. This ELISA kit enables researchers to accurately measure the levels of Dopamine Transporter in rat samples, providing valuable insights into the regulation of dopamine signaling pathways and its impact on neurological functions.
By studying changes in Dopamine Transporter expression, researchers can further understand dopaminergic neurotransmission and its involvement in neurological and psychiatric disorders. The Rat DAT ELISA Kit from Assay Genie offers exceptional sensitivity and specificity, ensuring precise and reproducible results. Manufactured following stringent quality control standards, this kit provides reliable performance and user-friendly protocols, making it an ideal choice for research studies focusing on the Dopamine Transporter's role in neurobiology and neuropsychiatric disorders in rat models.

This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat DAT. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat DAT and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat DAT, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat DAT. You can calculate the concentration of Rat DAT in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
