Description
Rat CTSD (Cathepsin D) ELISA Kit
The Rat CTSD (Cathepsin D) ELISA Kit is a valuable tool designed for the quantitative detection of Cathepsin D levels in rat biological samples. Cathepsin D is a critical lysosomal protease involved in various cellular functions, including protein processing, degradation, and turnover. It plays a pivotal role in intracellular proteolysis, autophagy, apoptosis, and cell proliferation, highlighting its significance in cellular homeostasis and pathophysiological processes. Accurate measurement of Cathepsin D levels is essential for studying its role in physiological conditions, such as cellular metabolism and protein turnover, as well as in pathological conditions, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and lysosomal storage disorders.
The ELISA kit offers a precise and reliable method to quantify Cathepsin D concentrations in biological samples, enabling researchers to explore its involvement in disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic strategies. Manufactured with stringent quality control standards, the Rat CTSD ELISA Kit ensures exceptional sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility of results. Its user-friendly protocol, robust performance, and precise measurements make it a valuable asset for research studies focusing on the biological and pathological implications of Cathepsin D in various cellular processes and diseases.

This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat CTSD. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat CTSD and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat CTSD, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat CTSD. You can calculate the concentration of Rat CTSD in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
