The Rad52 Polyclonal Antibody is a vital tool for researchers studying the Rad52 protein, a key player in DNA repair processes. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been specifically validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the Rad52 protein, this antibody allows for precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential asset for investigations in molecular biology and cancer research.
Rad52 is an essential protein involved in homologous recombination, a crucial mechanism for repairing DNA damage and maintaining genomic stability. Dysregulation of Rad52 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and genetic disorders. As such, the Rad52 Polyclonal Antibody serves as a valuable tool for researchers seeking to unravel the mechanisms underlying these conditions and develop targeted therapies for their treatment.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 125-418 of human Rad52 (NP_602296.2).
The protein encoded by this gene shares similarity with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Rad52, a protein important for DNA double-strand break repair and homologous recombination. This gene product was shown to bind single-stranded DNA ends, and mediate the DNA-DNA interaction necessary for the annealing of complementary DNA strands. It was also found to interact with DNA recombination protein RAD51, which suggested its role in RAD51 related DNA recombination and repair. A pseudogene of this gene is present on chromosome 2. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Additional alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but their full-length nature is not known.
