The RAD51C Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6961) is a valuable tool for researchers studying RAD51C, a key player in DNA repair and homologous recombination. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the RAD51C protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in genetics, cancer biology, and therapeutic development.RAD51C is essential for maintaining genomic stability and preventing the accumulation of DNA damage, making it a crucial factor in cellular health and disease prevention.
Mutations in RAD51C have been linked to increased susceptibility to certain cancers, highlighting the importance of understanding its function and regulation. By utilizing the RAD51C Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can further investigate the role of RAD51C in DNA repair mechanisms and uncover potential therapeutic targets for cancer treatment.

This gene is a member of the RAD51 family. RAD51 family members are highly similar to bacterial RecA and Saccharomyces cerevisiae Rad51 and are known to be involved in the homologous recombination and repair of DNA. This protein can interact with other RAD51 paralogs and is reported to be important for Holliday junction resolution. Mutations in this gene are associated with Fanconi anemia-like syndrome. This gene is one of four localized to a region of chromosome 17q23 where amplification occurs frequently in breast tumors. Overexpression of the four genes during amplification has been observed and suggests a possible role in tumor progression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
