The QuickStep Monkey Cortisol ELISA Kit is specifically designed for the quantitative detection of cortisol levels in monkey serum, plasma, and saliva samples. This kit offers a high sensitivity and specificity, providing accurate and reliable results for research applications in the field of stress physiology and endocrinology.Cortisol is a key steroid hormone that plays a vital role in the body's response to stress, regulating metabolism, immune function, and stress responses. Abnormal cortisol levels have been associated with various health conditions, making it an important biomarker for studying stress-related disorders such as anxiety, depression, and adrenal disorders.
By using the QuickStep Monkey Cortisol ELISA Kit, researchers can easily measure cortisol levels in monkey samples, allowing for detailed analysis of the physiological effects of stress and the potential development of new therapeutic interventions. This kit is an essential tool for any laboratory conducting research on stress-related mechanisms in primates.

This ELISA kit uses the Competitive-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with Bovine Cortisol. Samples (or Standards) and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) linked antibody specific for Bovine Cortisol are added to the micro ELISA plate wells. Bovine Cortisol in samples (or standards) competes with a fixed amount of Bovine Cortisol on the solid phase supporter for sites on the HRP linked detection antibody specific to Bovine Cortisol. Excess conjugate and unbound sample or standard are washed from the plate. The substrate solution is added to each well. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 ± 2 nm. The concentration of Bovine Cortisol in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
