The PTPRN Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6401) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the PTPRN protein, which is involved in regulating insulin secretion in pancreatic β-cells. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blotting applications. By binding to the PTPRN protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of PTPRN in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies focused on diabetes, metabolism, and endocrine function.PTPRN, also known as protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type N, is a key player in the control of insulin release from pancreatic β-cells.
Dysregulation of PTPRN function has been linked to impaired insulin secretion and the development of diabetes. Research into the role of PTPRN is essential for understanding the mechanisms underlying insulin production and release, as well as for developing new strategies for the treatment of diabetes and related metabolic disorders. With its high specificity and sensitivity, the PTPRN Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6401) is a valuable resource for scientists investigating these important biological pathways.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This PTP possesses an extracellular region, a single transmembrane region, and a single catalytic domain, and thus represents a receptor-type PTP. This PTP was found to be an autoantigen that is reactive with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) patient sera, and thus may be a potential target of autoimmunity in diabetes mellitus. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
