The PTK2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2114) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PTK2, a protein involved in cell adhesion, migration, and signaling. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the PTK2 protein, this antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze PTK2 in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for studies in cell biology, cancer research, and drug development.
PTK2, also known as focal adhesion kinase (FAK), is a key player in cell signaling pathways that control cell adhesion and migration. Dysregulation of PTK2 has been implicated in cancer progression, making it an attractive target for therapeutic interventions. By studying the function of PTK2, researchers can gain insight into the mechanisms underlying cancer metastasis and potentially identify novel therapeutic strategies to target PTK2 in cancer treatment.
Product Name:
FAK Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB2114
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit
Reactivity:
Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 700-800 of human FAK (NP_722560.1).
This gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinase which is found concentrated in the focal adhesions that form between cells growing in the presence of extracellular matrix constituents. The encoded protein is a member of the FAK subfamily of protein tyrosine kinases but lacks significant sequence similarity to kinases from other subfamilies. Activation of this gene may be an important early step in cell growth and intracellular signal transduction pathways triggered in response to certain neural peptides or to cell interactions with the extracellular matrix. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
