The PSMB1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1043) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the PSMB1 protein, a vital component of the proteasome complex responsible for protein degradation in cells. This polyclonal antibody, raised in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the PSMB1 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent choice for studies in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cancer research.PSMB1 is an essential subunit of the proteasome complex, playing a crucial role in maintaining cellular homeostasis by degrading damaged or unwanted proteins.
Dysregulation of the proteasome system, including PSMB1, has been implicated in various diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and autoimmune conditions. Investigating the function and expression of PSMB1 with the help of this polyclonal antibody can provide valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of these diseases and potentially lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting the proteasome system.

The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered ring-shaped 20S core structure. The core structure is composed of 4 rings of 28 non-identical subunits; 2 rings are composed of 7 alpha subunits and 2 rings are composed of 7 beta subunits. Proteasomes are distributed throughout eukaryotic cells at a high concentration and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent process in a non-lysosomal pathway. An essential function of a modified proteasome, the immunoproteasome, is the processing of class I MHC peptides. This gene encodes a member of the proteasome B-type family, also known as the T1B family, that is a 20S core beta subunit. This gene is tightly linked to the TBP (TATA-binding protein) gene in human and in mouse, and is transcribed in the opposite orientation in both species.
