The PSMA6 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2188) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the proteasome subunit alpha type-6 (PSMA6), an essential component of the proteasome complex involved in protein degradation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards PSMA6 in human samples, making it suitable for use in Western blot applications.PSMA6 is a key player in the cellular protein degradation process, and dysregulation of its function has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and autoimmune conditions.
By targeting PSMA6 with this antibody, researchers can track and analyze its expression levels in different cell types, providing insights into its role in disease pathology and potential therapeutic interventions. With its reliability and versatility, the PSMA6 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable asset for scientists conducting research in biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology. Its ability to detect and quantify PSMA6 protein levels in various experimental settings makes it an essential tool for unraveling the complexities of protein homeostasis and disease mechanisms.

The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered ring-shaped 20S core structure. The core structure is composed of 4 rings of 28 non-identical subunits; 2 rings are composed of 7 alpha subunits and 2 rings are composed of 7 beta subunits. Proteasomes are distributed throughout eukaryotic cells at a high concentration and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent process in a non-lysosomal pathway. An essential function of a modified proteasome, the immunoproteasome, is the processing of class I MHC peptides. This gene encodes a member of the peptidase T1A family, that is a 20S core alpha subunit. Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene. A pseudogene has been identified on the Y chromosome.
