The PRSS8 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16419) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PRSS8, a serine protease enzyme involved in various physiological processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is optimized for Western blot analysis. By targeting the PRSS8 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of PRSS8 in different cell types, making it ideal for studies in areas such as cell biology and cancer research.PRSS8, also known as prostasin, plays a crucial role in regulating the proteolytic cascades involved in cell signaling, tissue remodeling, and ion channel activation.
Its dysregulation has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, kidney disorders, and inflammatory conditions. Investigating the function of PRSS8 is essential for understanding its potential as a therapeutic target in the treatment of these diseases.Overall, the PRSS8 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16419) offers researchers a reliable tool for exploring the functions and mechanisms of PRSS8, paving the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies in biomedical research.

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 200 to the C-terminus of human PRSS8 (NP_002764.1).
This gene encodes a member of the peptidase S1 or chymotrypsin family of serine proteases. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate light and heavy chains that associate via a disulfide bond to form the heterodimeric enzyme. This enzyme is highly expressed in prostate epithelia and is one of several proteolytic enzymes found in seminal fluid. This protease exhibits trypsin-like substrate specificity, cleaving protein substrates at the carboxyl terminus of lysine or arginine residues. The encoded protease partially mediates proteolytic activation of the epithelial sodium channel, a regulator of sodium balance, and may also play a role in epithelial barrier formation.
