The Protein S100-A8 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1688) is a valuable tool for research involving the S100-A8 protein, a member of the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins known for their involvement in inflammation and immune response. Raised in rabbits, this antibody is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.S100-A8 is a key player in the regulation of inflammatory processes and has been implicated in various disease states, including cancer, autoimmune disorders, and chronic inflammatory conditions.
By targeting the S100-A8 protein, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying these diseases and potentially identify new therapeutic targets. This antibody enables the detection and analysis of S100-A8 in various cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in immunology and cancer research. By understanding the role of S100-A8 in immune regulation, researchers can pave the way for the development of novel treatments that target inflammatory pathways and modulate immune responses.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein may function in the inhibition of casein kinase and as a cytokine. Altered expression of this protein is associated with the disease cystic fibrosis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
