The Prominin-1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0219) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Prominin-1, a cell surface protein involved in various cellular processes, including cell differentiation and development. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.Prominin-1, also known as CD133, is a marker of stem and progenitor cells in various tissues, making it a key target for research in stem cell biology and cancer. Its role in cell differentiation and maintenance of stem cell populations has implications for regenerative medicine and cancer therapy.
The Prominin-1 Polyclonal Antibody enables the detection and analysis of Prominin-1 expression in different cell types, facilitating research in these areas.Understanding the function of Prominin-1 can provide insights into its role in normal physiological processes and disease pathology. Research utilizing this antibody may lead to a deeper understanding of stem cell biology, cancer development, and potential therapeutic strategies targeting Prominin-1.

CAB0219
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 179-433 of human CD133 (NP_006008.1).
This gene encodes a pentaspan transmembrane glycoprotein. The protein localizes to membrane protrusions and is often expressed on adult stem cells, where it is thought to function in maintaining stem cell properties by suppressing differentiation. Mutations in this gene have been shown to result in retinitis pigmentosa and Stargardt disease. Expression of this gene is also associated with several types of cancer. This gene is expressed from at least five alternative promoters that are expressed in a tissue-dependent manner. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
